Sweet Release Boz Scaggs (real name William Royce Scaggs) was born in 1944 in Ohio, and as a teenager met Steve Miller, in whose band he became a vocalist back in 1959. The most successful period of the musician's career came from the mid-70s to the early 80s, when his singles hit the Top 20, and his albums received gold and platinum status. And in the mid-60s, Boz went to Europe, where in Sweden in 1966 on the Polydor company he released his debut album "Boz", which, however, was not successful and was never reissued. In 1967, returning to the United States, he again joined Steve Miller's group The Steve Miller Band, with which he recorded two discs 'Children of the Future" and "Sailor", but left it for a solo career. In 1968, he managed to sign a contract with the Atlantic label and release his second solo album "Boz Scaggs", which did not sell very well, despite the fact that Duane Allman, the founder of The Allman Brothers Band, who tragically died in 1971, participated in the recording as a session guitarist. In 1977, the album was remixed and reissued by Atlantic by sound engineer Tom Perry to attract the attention of Duane Allman fans. But as a result of the remix, it turned out that many of the background instruments, backing vocals and keyboards began to sound below their recording level. In 2008, the album was reissued again on Friday Music on vinyl LP with the original sound that was used during the recording of the album in 1969. In 2012, this album was listed by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, number 496
