This preview introduces some new features and a small set of improvements and fixes. ** What’s new in Windows 11 build 26300.8142 ** * Administrator Protection feature * Typically, users in the “Administrators” group can modify system settings and install apps without restrictions. While these capabilities are useful, they also present a significant security risk, as malicious actors can exploit them to compromise the system. You can enable Administrator Protection from the Group Policy Editor and from Windows Security > Account Protection > Administrator protection. * Touchpad customization * In this release, Microsoft is also adding a new setting in the “Touchpad” page under Settings > Bluetooth & devices, which lets you choose the size of the right-click zone, the portion at the bottom-right of the touchpad. The new setting lets you choose between default, small, medium, and large. Microsoft notes that this setting only appears for touchpads with a pressable surface. * Task Manager with NPU insights * In addition, you’ll find an updated version of the Task Manager that provides more NPU details, including new optional “NPU” and “NPU Engine” columns on the “Processes,” “Users,” and “Details” pages. * Windows Protected Print Mode changes * Finally, this rollout updates printer settings to display a new icon on printers that support Windows Protected Print Mode. * Other changes * - Accessibility: Fixes an issue impacting the use of Braille. - Display language: Addressed a problem with the operating system, showing English as the language rather than their preferred language.
